Jewels ("the Software", "the Application", "the App") is a local, on-device record-keeping tool developed for independent use by individual jewelers, traders, or other persons for their own internal business record-keeping purposes. The Software is distributed strictly as a personal productivity utility and is not marketed, licensed, or intended for use as a financial product, banking service, lending platform, or regulated financial service of any kind. The Software operates entirely offline on the user's own hardware device. No data is transmitted to, stored on, or processed by any server, cloud infrastructure, or third-party service operated by the developer. All data entered into the Application remains exclusively within the physical possession and control of the user's device.
The creator, developer, and distributor of Jewels ("the Developer") is not a bank, non-banking financial company (NBFC), payment aggregator, financial intermediary, money lender, pawnbroker, or any other form of regulated financial institution as defined under the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, or any applicable State Moneylenders Act, Pawnbrokers Act, or equivalent legislation in any jurisdiction. Jewels does not facilitate, enable, arrange, or participate in any lending transaction, credit agreement, pledge agreement, or financial contract between any parties. The Application is a passive record-keeping interface only. All transactions, agreements, and financial arrangements are entered into solely and entirely by the user at their own discretion and risk.
Nothing in Jewels, its interface, its computed outputs, its labels, its promotional materials, or any associated documentation constitutes, or should be construed as, financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, accounting advice, or tax advice of any kind. The Developer is not a registered financial advisor, chartered accountant, advocate, or any other licensed professional. Users are strongly advised to consult qualified professionals — including but not limited to chartered accountants, advocates, or licensed financial advisors — before making any lending, investment, reporting, or compliance decisions based on records maintained in this Application.
Jewels includes an interest calculation feature that computes indicative monthly and quarterly figures based on values entered by the user. This calculator is provided solely as a mathematical aid to assist users in their own manual computations. The Developer makes no representation or warranty that the interest rates, calculation methodologies, or computed figures displayed in the Application comply with, or are permissible under, the laws of any jurisdiction. Interest rates applicable to moneylending, pawnbroking, and similar activities are regulated by state and central legislation that varies significantly across jurisdictions. Users bear sole and absolute responsibility for ensuring that any interest rates they charge, record, or collect comply with all applicable laws, including but not limited to the applicable State Moneylenders Act, the usury provisions of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882, and any directions issued by the Reserve Bank of India. Use of the interest calculation feature in this Application does not constitute or imply the Developer's endorsement, validation, or authorization of any particular interest rate or lending practice.
The user is solely and exclusively responsible for: (a) Ensuring that all business activities recorded in the Application — including but not limited to pledging of gold or other assets, collection of interest, and money lending — are conducted in full compliance with all applicable central, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and notifications in force in the user's jurisdiction; (b) Obtaining and maintaining all requisite licenses, registrations, and permits required for their business activities, including but not limited to moneylending licenses, GST registration, income tax compliance, and any other regulatory requirement; (c) Accurately reporting all income, transactions, and business activity to applicable tax authorities, including the Income Tax Department of India and state tax authorities, in accordance with applicable law; (d) Ensuring that records maintained in the Application are not used to conceal, misrepresent, or facilitate non-disclosure of any transaction, income, or liability that is required to be disclosed under applicable law; (e) Ensuring that all counterparties to any transaction recorded in the Application have provided informed consent and that all contractual obligations to such counterparties are fully discharged. The Developer assumes no responsibility for the user's compliance or non-compliance with any law or regulation. Any illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or non-compliant use of this Application is entirely the responsibility of the user.
Jewels is designed as a fully offline, air-gapped application. To the best of the Developer's knowledge and design intent, no user data is transmitted outside the user's device. However, the Developer makes no absolute warranty regarding data security against: (a) Device-level security failures, including unauthorized physical access to the user's device; (b) Operating system vulnerabilities on the user's device; (c) Third-party applications, malware, or screen-capture software operating on the same device; (d) Data loss arising from device damage, theft, factory reset, or hardware failure. The user is solely responsible for securing their device, maintaining appropriate backups of their data, and protecting access to the Application and the device on which it is installed. The Developer accepts no liability for loss, corruption, theft, or unauthorized access to data stored within the Application.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. The Developer does not warrant that the Software will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Software is free of viruses, bugs, or other harmful components. The Developer does not warrant that computation outputs will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by the user from the Developer or through the Software shall create any warranty not expressly stated in this Disclaimer.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (a) Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the Software; (b) Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill; (c) Any regulatory action, penalty, fine, prosecution, or legal proceeding initiated against the user by any governmental authority, tax authority, law enforcement agency, or third party, arising from the user's use or misuse of the Software; (d) Any claim made by a third party arising from or related to the user's use of the Software; (e) Any loss arising from reliance on any calculation, output, or display produced by the Software. In any event, the Developer's total aggregate liability to the user for any cause of action shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the user for the Software license, if any. Where the Software is provided at no charge, the Developer's maximum liability shall be zero (₹0).
The user agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Developer and any associated persons from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) The user's use or misuse of the Software; (b) The user's violation of this Disclaimer or any applicable law or regulation; (c) The user's business activities, lending practices, or financial transactions, whether or not recorded in the Software; (d) Any third-party claim arising from the user's use of the Software or their business operations; (e) Any regulatory investigation, audit, or proceeding arising from the user's business activities. This indemnification obligation shall survive any termination or cessation of the user's use of the Software.
Jewels is designed and intended exclusively for lawful business record-keeping. The Developer expressly does not endorse, encourage, facilitate, or condone any use of the Software for: (a) Concealment of income, assets, or transactions from tax authorities; (b) Unlicensed moneylending or pawnbroking activities in jurisdictions that require a license for such activities; (c) Charging interest rates that exceed legally permissible limits under applicable law; (d) Money laundering, hawala transactions, or any other activity prohibited under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, or any analogous legislation; (e) Any other activity that is prohibited under Indian law or the laws of the user's jurisdiction. Any use of the Software for any unlawful purpose is entirely at the user's own risk and liability. The Developer reserves the right to report known or suspected unlawful use to appropriate authorities where legally required to do so.
This Disclaimer and any dispute arising from or in connection with the Software or its use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to this Disclaimer or the Software that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. If any provision of this Disclaimer is held to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
The Developer reserves the right to modify, update, or replace this Disclaimer at any time without prior notice. The version of the Disclaimer in force at the time of the user's use of the Software shall apply. Continued use of the Software following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Disclaimer. Users are encouraged to review this Disclaimer periodically. The effective date of the most recent version is stated at the top of this document.
If any provision of this Disclaimer is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be illegal, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from this Disclaimer and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect.
This Disclaimer constitutes the entire agreement between the user and the Developer with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, whether written or oral, regarding such subject matter.
BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING JEWELS, THE USER UNCONDITIONALLY ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THEY HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS DISCLAIMER IN ITS ENTIRETY. IF THE USER DOES NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, THEY MUST IMMEDIATELY CEASE USE OF THE APPLICATION AND DELETE IT FROM THEIR DEVICE. Use of this Application constitutes conclusive evidence of the user's acceptance of this Disclaimer.
By using Jewels, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this Disclaimer and Terms of Use in their entirety. This agreement is effective from the moment you first use the Application.
